Driver Class B

Description

  We are seeking a qualified, dependable Class B Truck Driver to join our delivery team. In this role, you will be responsible for loading goods from the warehouse into your truck, transporting the load to the program partner’s location, and unloading the shipment when you arrive. Our drivers must always drive safely and be professional and courteous when talking with our program partners. We prefer candidates who have at least 3 years of truck driving experience and who know how to perform basic maintenance on trucks. Perform general warehouse duties when no deliveries are scheduled such as processing inventory, receiving inventory and operating basic warehouse equipment. 

Requirements

Essential Functions:

· Map delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries

· Pick up loads, organize goods in the truck and secure packages

· Transport pallet goods and packages from SW Warehouse to assigned program partner site destination

· Obtain signatures from the program partner to confirm and complete delivery of product

· Communicate with SW Office and/or program partners

· Maintain and service as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)

· Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs

· Track and report working hours

· Adhere to company rules and regulations

· Able to lift 50-lbs or more continually

· Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to weather/road conditions

· Other duties as assigned

Key Responsibilities

o Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the trucks and report any issues or maintenance needs to management

o SW Reservation Knowledge

o Driver touch freight

o Ability to utilize warehouse equipment.

o Strong Customer Service skills

o Arranging overnight accommodation

o Knowledge of DOT, ELD guidelines and systems

o Fuel tax 

o Loading and unloading weights from 100lbs to 1,000lbs 

o Able to bend, twist, squat, stand and sit for long periods of time throughout the day

o Safety (top Priority)

Secondary Functions:

Working knowledge and certified on Warehouse Equipment

o Forklift, Reach Truck, Pallet jacks, Racking systems 

o Safe operation of equipment

o Counting, sorting, packaging an tagging

o Organized and accurate

o Cleaning

o Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft products, Paylocity

o Other duties as assigned

Work Conditions:

Hours Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM 

Will spend no less than two nights a week overnight

Overtime may be required when needed.

Job Scope:

Driving a 26’ Box Truck through rough terrain. Touch freight at partners sites. 4-day work week with weekends off.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Basic Math skills 

Valid driver’s license with Class B endorsement with 3 years of driving experience
