Foxdale Village, a life plan community guided by Quaker values, is a non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located in State College, PA. Foxdale was founded in 1985 by members of the State College Friends Meeting and is founded on the values of treating all with dignity and respect.  Foxdale is regarded as a premier healthcare facility both locally and nationally and has been voted "Best Retirement Community in State College, PA" now for 10 years consecutively.  Foxdale Village includes 57 apartments and 148 cottages and offers a range of health services with 46 beds in skilled nursing for short and long-term care, two memory care neighborhoods, and 55 beds in personal care, all with private accommodations.  We currently have an opportunity for a new Driver to join our team.

We are hiring for a Full-Time position and expected work 40 hours per week, typically working 8:00am – 4:30pm.

Driver Job Summary:Responsible for the transportation of residents. This includes transporting residents, maintaining a clean and safe environment inside and outside of vehicle, maintaining mileage logs, and reliability. 

Essential Job Functions:

Drive Foxdale vehicles for medical transportation:

1. Transport six to twelve persons per day to various locations. (ex: Medical appointments, Beauticians, Banks, Various shopping locations, and social occasions)
2. Clean inside and outside of a vehicle as directed
3. Carry cell phone while on duty to maintain effective communication.
4. Disinfect the help strap as directed.
5. Distances include: Geisinger Medical Center, Danville; Hershey Medical Center; Altoona area hospitals; Various other locations as needed
6. Assist residents into and out of the vehicles and doctor’s office as needed.
7. Strap the front and back of the wheelchair into the vehicle as necessary.
8. Check first aid box and fire extinguishers in vehicles as directed and document check.
9. Notify maintenance when infectious waste needs to be packed for pick up.
10. Pick up supplies as needed.
11. Deliver groceries to homes when residents are taken shopping.
12. Report the following information to supervisor as necessary: all vehicle maintenance issues, inspection deadlines, oil change times, etc. 
13. Maintain mileage and maintenance logs for all vehicles

Requirements

Education:  High school diploma or its equivalent is preferred.
Experience:  Related experience in driving is preferred.
Language:  Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
Math:  Must be able to complete tasks using basic mathematical skills.
Training:  Must possess a valid PA Driver’s License. On-site training is provided
Strength: Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift at least fifty pounds (with assistance when needed). This position requires the completion of non-sedentary work.
Other: Reliability is crucial.
