Driver (NEMT / ADA)

SNAH Healthcare Software Management is hiring Senior Shuttle Drivers to support the City of West Haven’s senior transportation program.

Drivers provide safe, reliable transportation for seniors traveling to and from the Senior Center and along designated shuttle routes.

This is not rideshare. You will have a structured schedule, dispatch support, and a clear daily route plan.

What You’ll Do

• Drive an ADA-equipped 15-passenger van safely and professionally (we provide the vehicle)
• Transport seniors to/from scheduled Senior Center pickups and shuttle stops
• Assist riders with boarding and mobility needs as required
• Follow assigned routes, pickup windows, and service protocols
• Communicate with dispatch and Senior Center staff
• Perform basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Provide respectful, patient, and professional customer service

Schedule Options

Option 1 – Senior Center Driver (Split Shift)

• Monday – Friday
• Morning Pickup: 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM
• Afternoon Return: 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
• Total: 3 hours/day, 5 days/week

Option 2 – Senior Shuttle Driver

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
• 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Total: 7 hours/day, 3 days/week

• Proven experience as a ADA Driver
• 25+ years old
• min. 2+ years of experience driving shuttle, ADA, or senior transportation vehicles
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to pass background check and drug screening
• Comfortable assisting seniors and riders with mobility devices
• A valid driver’s license
• A clean driving record
• Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)
• Familiarity with GPS devices
• Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods
• Ability to lift heavy packages and luggage
• A polite and professional disposition
• Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)
• A high school diploma
