Midstates Logistics, which is part of the Midstates family of companies based in Tennessee, is looking for a quality Driver Supervisor to lead, monitor and administrate daily driver scheduling to meet customer requirements.
The Midstates family is an asset owning third party logistics provider. The Midstates family has a proven record for providing excellent transportation service and for reducing customer supply chain expenses. Our customer base includes manufacturers, distributors, and warehouse operators within a 150-mile radius of Nashville, TN. Because we operate exclusively within a 150 mile radius of Nashville, all of our tractors are day cabs and our drivers are home every night. The average age of our day cab tractors is less than 2 years old. Our driver team has been consistent, "Platinum Award Winner" for safe driving, allowing us to provide safe / dependable service to our customers.
Requirements
⢠Plan, implement, and monitor day-to-day transportation operations to ensure customer requests are handled in a timely manner.
⢠Monitor and coordinate maintenance.
⢠Schedule vehicle repairs, arrange temporary vehicles and maintain requisite DOT reporting.
⢠Monitor drivers and insure all drivers are properly trained and possess the necessary skills to service customers safely.
⢠Assist in the coordination of driver training and testing.
⢠Ensure application of safety, accident-prevention standards, methods, and procedures.
⢠Find opportunities to improve routing operations and increase back-haul revenues.
⢠Promote and manage safety at all levels of the operation.
⢠Participate in the selection, hiring, and employee relations of driver team(s).
⢠Complete paperwork such as evaluations, accident/injury logs, and other reports and records.
⢠Assist in the payroll process of drivers and tracking of driver hours for customer invoicing.
⢠Review and schedule daily routing of equipment and manpower to meet customer needs.
⢠Resolve equipment failures or breakdowns, providing advice and assistance to drivers.
⢠Submitting appropriate reports to leasing/maintenance provider for service and repair.
⢠Motivate employees, including performance evaluation, counseling, and problem resolution, to achieve a positive work environment.
⢠Monitor and communicate with customers (late deliveries, etc.).
⢠Supervise employees, including interpretation of rules, conflict resolution, and disciplinary action as required.
Skills & Experience:
⢠Minimum of 3-5 years of Driver Supervision experience.
⢠Possess a Class A CDL strongly preferred.
⢠In-depth knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation regulations.
⢠Intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
⢠Communication skills for internal and external departments and relaying important information to leadership.
⢠Organization / attention to detail - lots of manual pieces and paper.
⢠Ability to analyze, critically evaluate situations, and communicate effectively
