Responsible for delivering bulk transportation safety training with significant emphasis on hazardous materials/liquids in compliance with Federal, and State regulations.
Responsible for providing orientation training to drivers, maintaining accurate records, and fostering an encouraging and positive learning environment.
The position is responsible for ensuring newly hired drivers are properly trained on company procedures and policies, as well as ensuring that these drivers are equipped with the tools and resources needed to follow all safety and transportation (DOT) regulations.
The Transportation Safety Driver Trainer will help facilitate the onboarding process and conduct orientations in person and hands on, as well as assist the safety department in ensuring the drivers are maintaining the high standards set forth by Quantix.
Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide a consistent driver trainer program throughout the liquid chemical division.
Adhere to and document a formal driver trainer program and system to track and monitor quality of training and safety orientation.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, orientation completions, evaluations, and coaching sessions in the appropriate systems.
Conduct one-on-one driver training in hands-on settings
Train and assist drivers on the ELD systems as required.
Assist in performing safety-related functions including, but not limited to, accident reviews and skills and behavior assessments.
Coach/Counsel drivers in collaboration with Operations and Safety for violations of DOT Regulations, FMCSA and OSHA safety standards, and company policies Conduct on-road tests and other evaluations with drivers to determine if drivers meet standards and are in compliance with safety, DOT, FMCSR, OSHA and company regulations and policies
Model safe behaviors and professional interactions while representing Quantix
Facilitate the driver orientation training process and ensure that all new driver training is complete within the established time parameters and that all training meets company standards.
Conduct ride-along evaluations of drivers for review or remedial training as needed.
Responsible for training drivers on pre and post trip inspection procedures, safe unloading procedures, incident/accident reporting and proper use of personal protective equipment.
Implement Driver Trainer standards and assist in obtaining or providing training required to ensure terminal Driver Trainer's consistency in applying standards throughout the company.
Work closely with terminal Driver Trainers to help determine employees driving abilities and competency; responsible for ensuring drivers are ready for dispatch and can perform duties as required.
Act as company liaison for drivers both during and after orientation.
Complete follow up assessments with drivers to ensure on onboarding and driving experience with the company is consistent with expectations.
Assist Quality and Sr. Director of Transportation Safety with customer issue follow up and resolution.
