Role Overview:
The Driver’s Helper supports Kommissary’s logistics team to ensure timely and safe deliveries of meals across New York City. This physically demanding role involves loading and unloading goods, assisting drivers with navigation, and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. The Driver’s Helper is essential to maintaining Kommissary’s reputation for excellence and reliability in meal delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with loading and unloading food items from delivery trucks.
• Transport food to and from designated delivery locations, ensuring accuracy and care.
• Support the driver in navigating routes and completing deliveries efficiently.
• Safely operate pallet jacks and hand trucks to handle goods.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the truck and delivery areas.
• Follow all safety protocols to prevent damage to goods and ensure a secure work environment.
• Assist the kitchen team with preparing deliveries for the next shift when needed.
• Perform other logistics-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience handling pallet jacks or hand trucks preferred.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• A team player with a self-starter attitude and a commitment to excellence.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work standing or walking for long periods.
• Perform physical tasks such as twisting, bending, and squatting.
• Work in fast-paced environments and in all weather conditions.
