Job Description

Stepan is seeking a Chemical Operator- Drum Out to join our Production team in Winder, GA. In this role, you will report to the Production Supervisor.  The purpose of this position is to provide our customers with quality Stepan finished goods in non-bulk packaging that meets all Federal regulations and Stepan guidelines. This is an hourly position that will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the plant site.

Key Responsibility:

• Filling containers based on scheduled Drum Make Orders, current Bill of Materials, Federal regulations and Stepan guidelines by hand or utilizing the drumming machine, and cross trained to Warehouse duties as well.


• Setting up for drumming: Printing and installing labels on proper containers for product being packaged, sampling tanks, installing proper closures on containers, unloading drums from trailers and staging in warehouse (staging drums on pallets, moving to aisle), setting lines and valves to direct bulk materials to areas where drumming will occur


• Operating forklifts, Ottawa spotters, floor sweepers and portable scales


• Washing vessel, piping and tank trucks in addition to doing general clean-up of areas of ownership, writing safety or standard work requests on any equipment identified faulty during your work day


• Moving out empty dry van trailers and spotting full trailers containing new containers for orders-spotting Drum Tank Trucks containing bulk material needed to fill DMO’s

Qualifications

• 0 - 1+ Years of chemical manufacturing and/or distribution experience


• 0 – 1+ Years of manufacturing or other heavy industrial experience


• Prefer previous experience with Inventory Management System (SAP), Microsoft Office, and Outlook, or show a willingness to learn.


• Must be able to work a rotating 12-hour schedule.  This will include nights, weekends and holidays.

Education

• Must have high school diploma or GED equivalency.
