Job Description - Drupal Architect

Drupal Architect
US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust
Hybrid Remote – 3 days onsite per week

Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking a highly skilled Drupal Architect to lead the design and development of complex Drupal-based solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Drupal architecture, best practices, and a proven track record of delivering successful Drupal projects. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong leadership skills to guide development teams and ensure the successful implementation of Drupal solutions.

Responsibilities:

Define and document Drupal architecture for complex projects, including system architecture, data architecture, and integration architecture.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Lead the design and development of custom Drupal modules and themes.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
Ensure adherence to Drupal coding standards and best practices.
Optimize Drupal performance and scalability.
Stay up to date with the latest Drupal trends and technologies.
Contribute to the development of Drupal community and open-source projects.

Required Skills & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
5+ years of experience in Drupal development, with a strong focus on architecture.
Expert-level knowledge of Drupal core, modules, and APIs.
Proven experience in designing and implementing complex Drupal-based solutions.
Strong understanding of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Experience with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue).
Proficiency in PHP and object-oriented programming.
Experience with version control systems (Git).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desired Skills & Experience:

Experience with Drupal distributions (Acquia, Pantheon).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
Certifications in Drupal or related technologies.
