Job Description - Due Process Manager

Distinguishing Characteristics of Work:


The essential function of the position is to direct and manage due process services; court reporting services, court interpreting services, ADA requests, and expert witnesses for the five-county circuit. This position is responsible for staff supervision, planning and integrating multiple administrative functions and operations, budgeting, managing contracts, performing research, analyzing data, and serving as a liaison between due process and court technology. The position works independently, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.


 


Education and Training Guidelines:


Bachelor’s degree in public, business, or judicial administration, judicial or business management, law or a closely related field.



Six years of related experience in the court system. Two years of supervisory experience.



Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year-basis.


 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



Knowledge of Florida Statutes, rules, regulations, principles, practices and procedures. Ability to interpret applicable laws, regulations and policies. Ability to communicate clearly with coworkers, management, staff and the public in a courteous and professional manner. Proficient in spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Ability to research information and analyze data. Ability to prepare worksheets containing statistical data. Ability to plan, organize, and supervise. Ability to implement goals, objectives, policies and procedures. Ability to handle sensitive matters before the court with integrity and confidentiality. Ability to handle multiple tasks with deadline requirements. Ability to working a fast-paced environment with many interruptions. Ability to utilize the Microsoft Office application suite, e-mail, specialized hardware and software applications and the Internet.
