The Impact You Will Have

The Early Careers & Talent Integration Coordinator partners closely with the VP, Early Careers & Talent Integration, to support Early Careers initiatives and the onboarding of all new talent, with a strong focus on delivering a seamless onboarding experience. In this role, you will help shape a thoughtful and engaging introduction to Walker & Dunlop. You will play a key role in ensuring new employees feel welcomed, supported, and set up for success from their first interaction through day one and beyond.

This role is well suited for a collaborative professional who brings strong time management, communication, organizational, and technical skills to their work. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to creating a positive employee experience. They are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and approach challenges with curiosity, creativity, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Primary Responsibilities

Onboarding: 

  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end onboarding process to deliver a best-in-class, consistent, and engaging experience for all new hires
  • Serve as the primary onboarding point of contact, ensuring clear, timely communication, strong coordination, and a supportive experience for new hires and stakeholders
  • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including WDTech, Recruiting, and Office Services, to ensure new hires have the tools, access, and information needed to be set up for success, while creating a smooth and welcoming transition into Walker & Dunlop
  • Proactively engage with new hires prior to their start date to share onboarding details, remote or hybrid work expectations (as applicable), equipment coordination and tracking, and other essential information to promote clarity, preparedness, and confidence ahead of day one
  • Act as a trusted resource for new employees, responding to questions, providing ongoing guidance, and resolving concerns thoughtfully and professionally throughout the onboarding experience
  • Facilitate a New Hire “Welcome Call” for all new employees, providing a warm first-day introduction, outlining the onboarding journey, addressing initial questions, and establishing yourself as their dedicated onboarding partner
  • Lead orientation sessions during each new hire’s first week, delivering an overview of Walker & Dunlop’s history, mission, values, culture, and key policies, programs, and resources
  • Coordinate and maintain departmental training schedules (weekly, monthly, and quarterly, as applicable), partnering with managers to ensure training content, materials, and delivery remain accurate, relevant, and up to date
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the onboarding program on an ongoing basis, incorporating feedback from new hires, managers, and key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement through surveys, focus groups, and one-on-one discussions
  • Support onboarding and employee experience workflows in Workday, including troubleshooting issues, processing data changes and transactions, and partnering with employees to enhance overall system usability
  • Support and enhance the onboarding experience for new hires located in Europe in partnership with regional stakeholders

Early Careers: 

  • Deliver a high-touch, best-in-class service experience to all internal and external stakeholders, ensuring interactions are responsive, professional, and supportive
  • Maintain and enhance the Early Careers and Onboarding W&D Connect pages, partnering closely with the HR team to ensure content remains accurate, current, and aligned with the onboarding experience
  • Coordinate and manage the distribution of new hire gifts, working with external vendors to ensure an organized, timely, and welcoming experience for new employees
  • Track and manage the Early Careers budget, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with onboarding and Early Careers initiatives
  • Develop, document, and maintain clear policies, procedures, and processes for the Early Careers team in partnership with Talent Team Operations, supporting a consistent and scalable onboarding experience
  • Support the documentation, communication, and implementation of updates to intern and analyst programs, ensuring changes are clearly communicated and seamlessly integrated
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of interns and analysts, including coordinating interview schedules, conducting initial virtual screens, and ensuring a smooth transition from offer to day one
  • Own the scheduling and coordination of interviews for interns, ensuring a professional, organized, and candidate-friendly experience
  • Actively participate in HR team meetings, proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen onboarding, early career programs, and the overall employee experience
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned, supporting team priorities and evolving business needs
  • Attendance is generally required from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm local time, Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred
  • 1+ years of relevant administrative, coordination, or project management experience preferred; prior experience in an HR, People, or Talent function is a plus
  • Experience with Workday or similar HR systems is a plus

  • Demonstrates courtesy and thoughtfulness when partnering with colleagues and stakeholders across the organization

This position has an estimated base salary of $60,000 – $68,000 plus discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will be based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
