We are seeking an Early Childhood Education Coordinator to provide leadership, coaching, training, and technical expertise that strengthens classroom quality, promotes school readiness, and supports positive outcomes for children and families.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Provide leadership, technical assistance, and expertise in early childhood education, child development, inclusion, and mental health best practices
  • Assess staff development needs and coordinate onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing professional development opportunities
  • Develop and maintain training materials, resources, and implementation supports that promote effective teaching practices and continuous quality improvement
  • Support implementation of approved curriculum, school readiness goals, developmentally appropriate practices, and relationship-based approaches, including Conscious Discipline
  • Conduct classroom observations, curriculum fidelity reviews, CLASS observations, and Practice-Based Coaching activities to strengthen instructional quality and positive child outcomes
  • Maintain required reliability standards and certifications necessary to conduct classroom observations and support curriculum implementation
  • Coordinate child assessment processes, data collection, analysis, and reporting activities to support school readiness goals and program planning
  • Support inclusion and mental health services by coordinating screenings, referrals, follow-up activities, and individualized supports for children and families
  • Participate in multidisciplinary planning, enrollment reviews, referral follow-up, and collaborative discussions regarding child and family needs
  • Assist with monitoring activities, policy development, corrective action planning, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with Child and Family Development staff, community partners, and service providers to ensure coordinated service delivery and compliance with Head Start Performance Standards
  • Participate in local, state, and federal trainings, conferences, meetings, and professional workgroups that support program goals and community needs
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support program operations and organizational objectives

WHAT YOU BRING

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field preferred; equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with young children in licensed early childhood settings preferred
  • Experience supporting classroom quality, curriculum implementation, coaching, staff development, or program improvement activities preferred
  • Valid State of Ohio driver's license and ability to remain insurable in accordance with Agency policy
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required certifications, reliability standards, and training necessary to perform assigned duties

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards, Ohio Department of Children and Youth licensing requirements, Step Up To Quality standards, and developmentally appropriate practice
  • Knowledge of child assessment systems, school readiness practices, inclusion services, and positive behavior support approaches, including Conscious Discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and related applications
  • Experience utilizing child and family data systems, online databases, and web-based reporting systems
  • Experience creating training materials and professional development resources using Canva, PowerPoint, Padlet, or similar platforms preferred
  • Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide coaching, training, and constructive feedback
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulations, policies, procedures, and program requirements accurately and consistently
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with children, families, staff, community partners, and individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position primarily operates in an administrative, training, and coaching capacity while regularly traveling to agency classrooms, centers, partner locations, and other program sites throughout the service area.

Responsibilities include classroom observations, staff coaching, training, monitoring activities, curriculum support, data review, and quality improvement initiatives. The position requires regular interaction with children, families, staff, community partners, and service providers.

The employee may experience prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and data analysis, as well as extended periods of standing, walking, observing classroom activities, and traveling between program locations. Occasional overnight travel and limited air travel may be required for professional development, conferences, or program-related meetings.

In accordance with U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position is classified as sedentary work with regular standing, walking, travel, classroom observation, and other movement required to perform assigned duties.
