NY Kids Club & NY Preschool is inspiring today’s children to succeed in tomorrow’s world with our love for play— and we have immediate openings for an Early Childhood Lead Instructor to join our growing team!

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of early childhood development and be passionate about creating a positive, engaging, and supportive community for young children and their families. This role involves teaching a variety of courses aimed at children and/or their caregivers, ranging from preschool prep to movement-based activities in our play space/gym. It also involves facilitating energetic and fun one-time events, like Movie Nights and Birthday Parties. The candidate will be tasked with helping facilitate sessions that are engaging, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with our child-centered approach.

Here’s what a Early Childhood Lead Instructor’s day looks like:

  • Safety is number one! Ensure each student's health and safety at all times through adherence to our daily protocols.
  • Lead classes for children ranging from 6 months to 8 years and adjust lessons for each specific age group as needed.
  • Feel comfortable teaching as indicated in the curriculum, but differentiating to meet the needs of individual participants.
  • Guide adult learners through sessions aimed at developing their parenting and self-care skills
  • Create a complete experience from the moment our families walk in the door to when they leave by maintaining the highest level of customer service possible
  • Providing teaching support for adults or families, feeling confident working with learners of all ages.
  • Facilitate delightful special event experiences like Birthday Parties, PJ parties, and more.
  • Create unforgettable moments for both children and their parents in a creative and thematic setting.
  • Use play-based learning approaches to engage children in exploration, creativity, and problem-solving.
  • Provide a warm and inspiring environment for all participants, caregivers, and children alike
  • Support parent, family, and children play groups and communities
  • Model open-mindedness, creativity, empathy, and excitement
  • Be available to work Full-Time Year Round (30-40 hours per week), with the ability to work at least one weekend day.

Requirements

This job is for you if you:

  • Have a Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate OR Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred. (If you don't meet this qualification, you must have equivalent experience.)
  • Have 2+ years of experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood teaching practices and development principles.
  • Ability to create and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children and their families.

Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.

The pay rate for this role is $25.00/hour

Physical Demands:

The role involves standing, walking, sitting, constant movement, and occasional climbing. The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is required. Specific sensory abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.
