The Early Childhood Specialist will provide on-site coaching and mentoring customized
for childcare providers in the Southeast Region to strengthen high-quality, responsive, and
relationship-based care.
Required Qualifications
An Associate’s Degree or higher in Child Development, Early Childhood Education,
Family Studies,
Social Work, or a closely related field.
At least two (2) years of professional experience in the area of early childhood
development or
possess a Family Child Care Development Associate (CDA) credential; and
At least three (3) years of professional experience working with children in a childcare
setting.
Primary Responsibilities
Ability to build rapport with child care providers and Directors.
Develop, schedule and administer virtual/in-person clock hour trainings to child care
providers with six (6) or fewer children that have a Child Care Provider Agreement, licensed family
child care home providers, licensed group home child care providers, licensed and license-exempt child
care centers in the southeast region.
Conduct on-site technical assistance (TA)/modeling visits with child care
providers to model the practical applications of the topics covered in the training
Use of a personal vehicle is required and will be reimbursed monthly.
Recruit new, qualified early childhood providers for participation in the program.
Occasional evening and Saturday hours will be required.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
