As a SPED Instructional Care Aide, you’ll be the steady, encouraging presence students rely on—both in the classroom and beyond it.

This role is more than a job—it’s meaningful work that changes lives. You’ll partner closely with teachers to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Your daily impact will include:
•     🚌 Student Guidance: Support students during transitions, recess, meals, specialized classes, and community outings.
•     📋 Behavior Support: Help implement behavior plans, monitor progress, and reinforce positive strategies.
•     🧠 Academic Assistance: Assist with testing, small-group learning, reading activities, and classroom engagement.
•     🧼 Health & Hygiene Care: Provide essential care such as feeding, toileting, lifting, and assisting with specialized medical needs.
•     🧰 Classroom Organization: Keep materials organized and learning spaces ready for action.
•     🗣️ Team Collaboration: Communicate student needs, support substitute teachers, and participate in conferences and training.
•     📚 Professional Growth: Attend workshops and specialized training to support IEP goals and expand your skills.

Required:
•     Experience working with children
•     Basic computer skills
Preferred:
•     Experience in educational settings
•     Tutoring experience with young children

🎓 Education Requirements
You’ll qualify if you meet one of the following:
•     60+ college credit hours
•     Associate’s degree or higher
•     Passing score on the Missouri ParaPro or Paraprofessional Assessment
•     Completion of Missouri’s online Substitute Training Program
•     Valid Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate

💪 Physical Requirements
This role includes light physical activity:
•     Ability to operate a motor vehicle
•     Lift up to 10 lbs occasionally
