Do you believe every child deserves access to affordable, high-quality child care, and that providers deserve fair wages and respect for the essential work they do? Join Community-Minded Enterprises and help build a movement that makes this vision a reality.

As an Early Learning Regional Advocacy Coordinator, you’ll be at the forefront of the Child Care for Washington Campaign, empowering parents, child care providers, and communities to shape the policies that impact them most.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll:

  • Mobilize for Impact: Organize regional cohorts, community listening sessions, and meetings with lawmakers.

  • Advance Equity: Elevate the voices of historically underrepresented families and providers while centering racial and social justice.

  • Drive Policy Change: Support statewide legislative efforts to secure affordable child care for families and fair wages for providers.

  • Represent the Movement: Partner with coalitions, community organizations, and elected officials to amplify the Child Care for Washington platform.

What We’re Looking For:

You’re passionate about community-driven advocacy and thrive in spaces where collaboration, storytelling, and policy come together. You bring:

  • Strong facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of your work.

  • Ability to engage confidently with families, providers, policymakers, and partners.

  • Flexibility to work evenings/weekends during legislative season.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • AA degree in Public Policy, Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Communications, Community Organizing, Political Science, or a related field, and 3+ years of related work experience. BA in fields previously mentioned and 3 years of experience preferred.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience in advocacy, community organizing, or coalition building may substitute for a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluency in a language other than English is a plus.

  • Familiarity with the Washington State political landscape/legislature and awareness of local elected officials and policymakers in the specified region.

  • Familiarity with the Washington State child care landscape, from either the perspective of a parent or child care provider.
