As the International School of Texas (IST) continues to grow, we announce our search for a full-time Early Years teacher to begin duties in August 2026. This position’s primary responsibility will be to teach the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) students. We are accepting applications for teachers for our early childhood PYP program (ages 3-6)

IST students become lifelong learners as they progress through the PYP, learning in a collaborative and inquiry-based environment. The primary responsibility of this position is to teach a grade level class and collaborate with IST’s subject area specialist educators (including STEM, Art, Music, Physical Education, Spanish, and Mandarin) to ensure student engagement and curriculum alignment. Preference will be given to teachers with experience teaching in an International Baccalaureate School.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The Lead Teacher must have experience teaching in the primary years. The successful candidate should have a strong belief in progressive education and have experience integrating curriculum with authentic, inquiry-based or project-based learning. This position requires an openness to new technology platforms and their integration into all aspects of the classroom.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, IST faculty have the opportunity to lead a variety of extracurricular and club activities that enrich the IST experience. From soccer and art clubs to robotics and cross-country, IST Trailblazers take their learning outside of the classroom through their participation in clubs and teams that enrich their bodies and minds.
