Earthworks Technical Engineer

The Earthworks Technical Engineer is responsible for working in multi-disciplinary environment; providing Earthworks review services as part of the Channel, Drains, Roadways or another potential element of the Project. Analysis of potential optimizations, alternatives that could improve the constructability of the works and prepare RFIs to solve issues during the construction period.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for design and shop drawings review when applicable. Including specifications, calculations, and bill of quantities
• Advise of potential optimizations, issues and incongruences during the design and construction period
• Participate in technical meetings with Designer or Subcontractors when required
• Provide periodic onsite construction inspections when potential issues are informed/detected
• During construction phases, provide support to the Technical managers to elaborate RFI's and assist with the resolution of construction issues
• Coordination with Survey and Cad Operators working in the development and review of as-builts for Works completed on the field
• Preparation for final versions of the as-builts/redlines packages for Designer’s approval
• Coordination with other departments to receive the required information to issue RFIs or obtain the Construction Certificates

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Technical Engineer with a minimum required experience of 2 years working as part of Contractors in the design review or support during construction of earthworks/geotechnical, roadways and drainage disciplines
• Experience in checking design reports, drawings, calculations and specifications
• Experience in preparing RFIs and As-Builts process
• Computer skills: high level knowledge of Microsoft Office products and CAD
• Must have the ability to work efficiently with or no supervision

Requirements

Experience/Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Engineering in Civil
• 2+ years of work experience. Minimum of 2 years working in technical department for Contractors

 Work Environment:

• This position is primarily indoors
• This work environment may involve minimal exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
