Quantitative Economic Solutions (QES), LLC is a boutique economic consulting firm located in the heart of downtown Boston. Founded in 2002 by Dr. Christopher Vellturo, QES provides clients with support in a variety of matters across a wide range of industries, with services primarily consisting of analysis and research for antitrust, intellectual property, and contract litigation. QES’s clients include many of the world’s top tech, pharmaceutical, and financial companies.
QES seeks graduating seniors to join us as Analysts. This position involves undertaking qualitative research on firms, industries, and technologies; performing quantitative data analysis; creating memos, exhibits, and other work product to be used in expert reports and presentations; and presenting complex economic findings for clients or to inform expert legal testimony. By the nature of our litigation-focused work, Analysts can expect to be exposed not only to complex microeconomic analysis, but also to the broader legal reasoning and strategies that underlie our casework.
QES is a 15-20 person firm with a collegial atmosphere and significant room for growth. As an Analyst at QES, you will be an active member of multiple case teams, where you will work directly with managers on a day-to-day basis, as well as with Dr. Vellturo.
The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented critical thinker with strong analysis, communication, writing, and presentation skills. There is no academic major requirement, but we are looking for candidates who are familiar with economics, math, and statistics.
Previous Analysts have gone on to law school, business school, and Ph.D. programs at top universities. Others have pursued careers in technology, business consulting, finance, research, and nonprofit work.
Total starting paid compensation consists of base salary and bonus. Expected total paid compensation exceeds $130,000, and performance-based salary and role adjustments are typically considered annually. In addition to paid compensation, we offer a signing/relocation bonus, we fully fund all health/dental/vision insurance coverage, and we offer generous 401(k) matching and paid leave policies. Upon completion of onboarding and training, Analysts may be given the opportunity to take advantage of a hybrid work environment, which typically consists of three days in the office and two days working from home. As is standard in our industry, there is a certain degree of fluctuation in the number of hours worked, particularly during deadline stretches. During such periods, employees may be required to work off-hours, including nights and weekends.
We will be reviewing applications and hiring on a rolling basis until positions are filled.
Artificial Intelligence Policy: QES strongly encourages the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace. However, all materials you submit as part of your application will be read by a human being, and all interviews will be conducted in real time by one or more members of the QES consulting staff: we do not use AI in our recruitment process. Because we're a small, tight-knit team, we are genuinely interested in learning about you and your skills. We therefore request that candidates refrain from submitting application materials that have been wholly generated by AI and from using AI assistance during interviews.
