POSITION: Health Services Manager

REPORTS TO: Health Coordinator

SALARY: Full Time 50 weeks per year/As per agency salary schedule      

FLSA: Exempt

HYBRID WORK: Eligible

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Responsible for program compliance of all regulatory agencies.
  2. Supports and mentor staff in the area of health and its related fields by providing timely feedback based on observations and data through formal and informal process including the development and support of professional growth.  
  3. Ensure collaborative partnerships are developed and maintained to support positive outcomes.
  4. Participates in monitoring of data in order to make program related decisions and required reporting such as: screenings, Child Studies, Program Goals, and PIR.
  5. Engage in assessment and evaluation of the program including: planning and implementation of policies, procedures, the program’s self-assessment and goals.
  6. Ensure documentation meets requirements are completed within a timely manner including: HSPS, PIR, DHS, IQ4K, CACFP, ASQs and incident reports.
  7. Participate in Health Services Advisory Committee as per HSPS and program policy.
  8. Demonstrate team building skills that contribute to a positive climate.
  9. Participates in professional growth and development to enhance knowledge and skills consistent with a coordinator. 
  10. Assist in program wide professional development opportunities based on data and program requirements for staff.
  11. Complies and enforces policies and procedures.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Access, input and retrieve information from computer.
  2. File and organize Head Start information.
  3. Inventory supplies and equipment.
  4. Familiarity with computer knowledge and skills in computer operations.
  5. Attend meetings and trainings as required.
  6. Viable means of transportation, and evidence of insurance, valid Iowa driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Minimum of LPN; prefer RN or BSN.
  2. Previous experience in preschool system, public health or school system.
  3. Willingness to become a CPR certified trainer.
  4. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Ability to work as an effective team member. 
  6. Familiarity with computer knowledge and skills in operations (Microsoft Office, Excel, Child Plus).
  7. Knowledge of HS Performance Standards, State licensing and NAEYC Accreditation.
  8. Successful completion and renewal certification in First Aid, Infant and Child CPR and Mandatory Abuse Reporter Training.
  9. Limited chauffeur’s license, acceptable driving record with valid auto insurance.
  10. Ability to perform medium to heavy physical work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force on occasion, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 5-10 pounds constantly, performing such activities as stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping, including some duties that may cause repetitive motion for brief periods of time.
  11. Initial physical and one every 3 years thereafter.
  12. Adhere to standards of conduct.
