EDI Specialist

JOB FUNCTION: We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled EDI Specialist to manage and maintain all aspects of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the accurate, timely, and secure exchange of business documents with our customers and vendors through EDI systems integrated into our website and ERP platform. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial distribution and a strong understanding of EDI transaction sets, mapping, and troubleshooting.

JOB DUTIES

• Manage and monitor EDI order processing via website portals, ERP integrations, and third-party platforms.


• Serve as the primary point of contact for EDI-related customer support and troubleshooting.


• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, IT staff, and internal departments to ensure EDI orders are processed correctly.


• Identify and resolve any EDI transmission errors or discrepancies promptly.


• Maintain and update EDI documentation, mapping specifications, and trading partner requirements.


• Collaborate with website and ERP teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.


• Monitor EDI performance metrics and prepare regular reports for internal stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Strong understanding of EDI standards.


• Familiarity with ERP systems.


• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.


• Experience with website-based EDI portals or customer ordering systems


• Understanding of API integrations and data mapping tools.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.


• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field preferred.


• 5+ years of experience working with EDI systems in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
