This job description is intended as an outline of the basic job duties and requirements.
Position Overview:
The Editor and Content Producer serves as the primary editor for Reflections Magazine while also spearheading social media content creation and management. Reporting to the Communications Director, this role is integral to maintaining editorial excellence in print and enhancing brand presence across digital platforms.
Pay range: $75,000 - $85,000 per year
Essential Functions:
Magazine:
Lead editor responsible for all aspects of magazine content, collaborating closely with the Art Director to ensure a cohesive visual and editorial experience.
Edit, write, and proofread magazine copy, adhering to AP style and brand voice guidelines.
Work with writers, photographers, and designers to curate high-quality content that resonates with our audience.
Coordinate photo shoots and track deadlines for magazine production.
Digital Content:
Develop and implement a content calendar for social media platforms.
Create engaging and visually appealing content for social media (copy, images, videos) to increase brand awareness and audience engagement.
Manage and publish content across various social media channels, including email.
Analyze social media metrics to understand content performance and optimize strategies.
Craft compelling email marketing content.
Marketing & Communications:
Collaborate with the various team members to create impactful marketing copy for diverse materials.
Maintain brand voice consistency across all platforms, while effectively differentiating between editorial and marketing styles.
Develop and maintain brand voice guidelines.
Assist with internal and external communications as needed.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in marketing meetings to brainstorm content ideas.
May compose and send press releases.
Assist with managing the magazine's production schedule and budget (optional, depending on the workload).
Stay informed about trends and best practices in content creation, social media marketing, and email marketing.
Proofread various materials and assist management with communication tasks.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in editorial roles, with a focus on magazine production experience.
Proven experience in creating engaging digital content.
Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and social media management platforms.
Understanding of SEO principles is a plus.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of creative marketing experience Bachelor's degree in a related field Strong creative portfolio that showcases the style and aesthetic of your design Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Thorough knowledge of both HTML5 and CSS3 as related to content management and control of layout & style, and as applied to web, email, and mobile apps Confident and creative writing skills Exceptional organization skills to manage and communicate multiple project timelines must keep up with the latest online trends, possess a willingness to adapt and a drive to continue to learn
