Schedule: 2nd Shift Monday - Thursday 3:15pm - 1:45pm

EDM OPERATOR 

An EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Electrical Discharge Machining equipment to produce precision parts and components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical specifications.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Monitor EDM Machines during operation to ensure parts are produced according to engineering prints and within compliant tolerance for quality and conformity.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain quality output and adherence to established manufacturing rates, (Parts Per Hour Net – PHN).
• Conduct thorough inspection of parts in-process and finished to ensure compliance to dimensions on engineering prints and quality standards before moving parts to the next operation.
• Adhere to all Work Instructions and SOPs.
• Accurately record part counts, conforming and non-conforming quantities, and scan vouchered hours on jobs worked throughout the shift.
• Stay updated on GSP SOPs and Work Instructions and adhere to all published standards.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly to supervisors.

Requirements

 Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and prints
• Strong understanding of CNC programing operation.
• Knowledge of EDM types (wires and sinkers) and their application.
• Attention to detail in precision work.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends if necessary.
• Commitment to safety protocols and adherence to company policies and procedures.
