Pay: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year

Location: Cleveland, Ohio. This is an on-site opportunity designed for attorneys who value direct collaboration, client interaction, and learning alongside an experienced legal team.

Note: Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Ohio and have at least 1 year of experience practicing as an attorney. Experience in education law, school law, municipal law, government law, public-sector representation, labor and employment, or related litigation is preferred but not required.

Job Description

  • Advise educational and public-sector clients on a wide variety of day-to-day legal matters
  • Research and analyze Ohio and federal laws affecting schools, public entities, employees, and students
  • Draft legal opinions, correspondence, policies, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Counsel clients regarding board policies, student matters, employee issues, regulatory compliance, and governance
  • Assist with labor and employment matters, collective bargaining, grievances, and employee discipline
  • Support attorneys in administrative hearings, arbitrations, negotiations, and litigation
  • Communicate directly with clients and provide clear, practical legal recommendations
  • Monitor developing laws and regulations and help clients proactively address legal risks
  • Collaborate with experienced attorneys while progressively taking ownership of client matters

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience practicing as an attorney
  • Active Ohio Bar license in good standing
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to provide practical, client-focused legal advice
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working collaboratively in an on-site environment
  • Education law, school law, municipal law, government, public-sector, labor and employment, or litigation experience preferred
