Job Description - Education Operations Specialist

About you and the role.

This role requires an individual that is highly organized and self-motivated. Should also be able to meet mutually agreed upon goals and deadlines within the role. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Paramedic with a critical care background and education experience.

What you will do.

  • Course Coordination
    • Responsible for the day-to-day course management, including but not limited to:
    • Ensuring every event is staffed with the proper level and amount of instructors required by the accrediting body responsible for each course of instruction.
  • Accreditation Maintenance
    • Responsible for mandated reporting to all accrediting bodies (SSH, CAPCE, IBSC, AHA etc).
    • Maintaining the required records and coordinating with the finance department to confirm that the yearly fee payments are accomplished.
  • American Heart Association Faculty Member
    • Responsible for instructing and coordinating new instructor courses for all levels of AHA course offerings. (BLS, ACLS, PALS, HEARTSAVER)
  • Educational Training Mentor
    • Working knowledge of adult education.
    • Assist the Dean of Education in providing instructor academy training for new employees and skills development and maintenance of existing employees.
  • Records Management
    • Responsible for adhering to BPM policy regarding records management for all instructor records and oversee the student records keeping at all campuses throughout the company.
  • Simulationist
    • Member of our world class mobile simulation team and will be traveling with us as we provide experiential education nationwide.
  • NMC Operations
    • Oversee the operation of the NMC (National Mobile Campus), the maintenance, setup and take down of the unit and assist with the delivery of course content.
  • Other duties as assigned, instructed, or directed.

In the first 90 days

  • You will obtain Faculty level certification in all three disciplines of AHA (BLS, ACLS, PALS)
  • You will assist with providing internal instructor academy training levels one and two.
  • You will assist with providing a simulation academy to help our new instructors begin the apprentice process.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of our simulators.
  • Attend 50% of prehospital events.
  • Attend 50% simulation events

In the first 120 days

  • You will attend at least 1 EMS conference as a vendor for education.
  • You will work with our HR department to review the employee handbook as it pertains to the Experiential Education department.
  • Ensure that every instructor has attended at minimum a level one training

Key Measurables

  • 50% NMC events attended
  • 50% prehospital events attended
  • Instructor academy level 1 and 2 provided

Top Candidates

  • Have 10+ years of Paramedic / Flight Nurse experience
  • 3-5 years experience with adult education / course development
  • Demonstrable experience with an accredited program
  • Project management lead experience
  • AHA instructor status in 3 disciplines
  • PHTLS instructor

Entry Candidates

  • 5+ Years experience as a Paramedic / Flight Nurse
  • Have a solid understanding of prehospital education
  • Have experience with adult education
  • Logistical support experience
