Job Description - EHS Manager

Eaton\u2019s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a EHS Manager. This is a full time, on-site position based at our Kearney, NE manufacturing plant. Relocation assistance is available to those within the US/PR. \n\n\nThe EHS Manager will establish, manage and coordinate all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security programs and functions of the facility. Participates in the development of EHS personnel for this facility and other facilities within the Corporation in areas of ISO 14001, VPP/ESP, Asbestos awareness, and the Corporate EHS Audit program (MESH), and other regulatory areas. Develops and implements programs for the facility to meet the regulations set forth by government agencies and Eaton. Maintains a secure facility by providing coordination of the contracted security company and applicable security measures for the facility. The EHS Manager supports the creation of a strong culture that engages employees in the achievement of the company\u2019s goal of a \u201cZero Incident\u201d Culture.\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. \nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\nEaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton\u0027s plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n * Leads the creation of the site EHS\u0026S targets and objectives (MESH Plan) in support of corporate, regional and business group EHS\u0026S strategic initiatives designed to drive EHS\u0026S culture, compliance, and results.\n * Ensures that the federal, state, and local EHS regulations are met including air, land and water to provide a safe working environment for employees, and a clean and healthful environment for the community. Maintains fiscally and socially responsible methods and processes of managing natural resources and waste.\n * Interfaces with regulatory agencies and divisional personnel to direct environmental, safety, and health efforts at the facility, in the division, and other groups within the company. Establishes and maintains relationships with governmental authorities on matters of mutual concern including voluntary certification, maintenance of environmental permits, submission of required reports, and maintenance of data.\n * Leads site efforts in the development and deployment of EHS management systems (e.g. ISO 14001, VPP, MESH) to ensure that key EHS operational controls are in place. Ensures that any and all action items identified within all EHS management systems are resolved in a timely manner\n * Complies with Eaton\u2019s ethics policy and keeps the management team informed of issues associated with regulatory compliance.\n * Manages all investigations, measurement, and evaluations of environmental, safety, and health conditions and ensures that relevant research, development, planning, design, and advisory and related activities occur.\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired Basic Qualifications: \n\n * Minimum Bachelor\u2019s Degree from an accredited institution\n * Minimum five (5) years of experience in environmental, safety, health function within a manufacturing environment and/or related industry. \n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any \"CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.\"\n\n\n\n \nPreferred Qualifications: \n\n * Masters Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene and/or Environmental discipline \n * Professional certification like : CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH ( Certified Industrial Hygienist) and/or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) \n * Leader of people experience \n\n\n\n## ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:\n\n * Proficient in maintaining, ordering, and using a wide variety of chemicals for equipment needed to support production.\n * Requires the ability to manage emergency situations effectively. This position is the incident commander of emergency response and is the go to person for emergency situations regarding hazardous materials response and many other EHS related emergency situations.\n * Maintains a trained Haz-Mat Emergency Response Team.\n * Working knowledge of cross-functional EHS disciplines including fire suppression\n * Ability to lead and support cross-functional process improvement teams\n * Ability to serve as a corporate subject matter expert in one of the EHS functional disciplines (occupational health, environmental management, safety, security or fire protection)\n\n\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
