Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nThe EH\u0026S Manager will manage a team of environmental, health and safety professionals with a focus on regulatory compliance, injury prevention and sustainability efforts. This position will also manage a team of Hazards Analysis/System Safety personnel who focus on identifying various hazards within energetic operations and ensuring all work is conducted safely.This position is located in Elkton, MD and will have EH\u0026S responsibilities for three locations (Elkton, Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach, FL). This position will report directly to the Weapons Systems Division Environmental, Safety, Health and Sustainability Manager.\n\nResponsibilities include developing and implementing injury prevention programs, developing compliance strategies for new and existing health and safety regulations and/or company policies, and supporting programs in a rapidly evolving environment.\n\nSpecific functional responsibilities include but are not limited to:\n\n\u00b7 Observes, records, analyzes and affects change of EH\u0026S compliance-related activities as necessary. Interacts with federal, state and local regulators to resolve compliance issues.\n\n\u00b7 Assure compliance with Corporate and Sector EHS procedures and guidelines such as HOPS and K200.\n\n\u00b7 Performs PS\u0026C PPCB Secretary duties to assure internal reviews as required by HOPS and sector management.\n\n\u00b7 Review Operating Procedures and approve or revise for safety compliance.\n\n\u00b7 Utilizes Root Cause and Problem-Solving tools. Provides creative and practical technical solutions to a moderate range of challenging problems.\n\n\u00b7 Collects, evaluates and interprets relevant EH\u0026S related data and metrics. Prepares environmental, health and safety metrics to leadership as required.\n\n\u00b7 Partner with other leaders to lead and foster a strong positive EHS culture across the PS\u0026C Business Unit.\n\n\u00b7 Provides input for external communications to customers, regulators \u0026 shareholders.\n\n\u00b7 Prepares communications to internal management.\n\n\u00b7 Manages PS\u0026C relationships and related activities with EH\u0026S regulatory personnel such as DCMA Safety, OSHA, EPA and other regulatory agencies.\n\n\u00b7 Lead internal actions and activities related to event investigations.\n\n\u00b7 Collaboration with other site EH\u0026S Managers, to harmonize company EH\u0026S policies and procedures.\n\n\u00b7 Developing and providing safety related training programs for touch labor, engineers and management.\n\n\u00b7 Manage occupational health programs including industrial hygiene monitoring and surveillance.\n\n\u00b7 Manage department budget and identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.\n\n\u00b7 Conduct inspections, audits, and incident investigations, and drive corrective actions.\n\n\u00b7 Oversee all required hazards analysis and ensure they are completed in a timely fashion.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n\u00b7 Requires BS in Environmental Science/Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent technical area (Biology, Chemistry, Geology, etc.) and 7 years of EHS experience or a relevant Masters degree and 5 years of EHS experience.\n\n\u00b7 Minimum of 3 years of Managerial experience\n\n\u00b7 Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance for which US Citizenship is a prerequisite.\n\n\u00b7 Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication and collaboration skills with all levels of an organization.\n\n\u00b7 Demonstrated ability to organize and multi-task various Industrial Hygiene and Safety programs effectively.\n\n\u00b7 Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with subordinates and delegate responsibilities with productive outcome.\n\n\u00b7 Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize, plan and execute in rapidly changing, fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality results.\n\n\u00b7 Ability to provide technical solutions to complex problems based on sound safety principles.\n\n\u00b7 Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvements and to develop and implement more efficient and enhanced programs.\n\n\u00b7 Ability to travel 25% of the time.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n\u00b7 Experience supporting EHS programs for manufacturing operations.\n\n\u00b7 Experience with Hazards Analysis and GFMEA.\n\n\u00b7 Experience working in an environment that processes and utilizes energetic materials such as propellants, explosives, pyrotechnics, etc.\n\n\u00b7 Demonstrate the ability to develop and carry out sustainability programs to meet corporate metrics.\n\n\u00b7 Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $127,100.00 - $190,700.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
