EH&S MANAGER OPPPORTUNITY

OPPORTUNITY SNAPSHOT:

The EH&S Manager will provide full-time safety support to the Fond du Lac facilities operations and will ensure that all practices are in compliance with local and state agencies. This role will also support the development and coordination of tasks and activities related to all safety aspects.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

Design, develop, and implement comprehensive environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and programs tailored to the specific needs and challenges of the FDL location.
Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance and best practices.
Conduct regular safety training sessions for employees, supervisors, and management to promote awareness and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Develop and maintain safety manuals, guides, and training materials.
Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
Implement measures to mitigate risks and improve safety standards.
Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, or near misses to determine root causes and develop preventive measures and works with safety committee on programs and initiatives.
Maintain accurate records of incidents, injuries, and partners with HR for corrective actions.
Monitor environmental regulations and ensure compliance with relevant laws, permits, and reporting requirements.
Implement programs to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainability initiatives.
Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures to address potential incidents such as fires, chemical spills, or natural disasters.
Coordinate drills and training exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response protocols.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and human resources, to integrate EHS practices into daily operations.
Communicate effectively with employees at all levels to foster a culture of safety and compliance.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

Associate degree in safety or environmental health field required.
3 years of safety experience is preferred.
Knowledge, skills and ability to execute local, state and federal health and safety laws and other government compliance regulations.
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Be self-motivated.
Good project management skills and good problem solving skills.
Ability to use Microsoft Office software tools.
Good safety awareness.
Ability to comprehend and interpret regulatory codes.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Ability to assume increasing responsibility over time.
