Project Scope
This EHS Manager will support an active pharmaceutical facility in Cambridge, MA, overseeing environmental, health, and safety compliance during ongoing maintenance operations. The facility includes laboratory spaces, testing environments, and manufacturing areas, all of which require strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory expectations.
The role focuses heavily on hard services and building maintenance activities, ensuring that work is executed safely in controlled environments such as clean rooms and laboratories. The EHS Manager will work closely with maintenance teams and site leadership to identify hazards, enforce safety protocols, and maintain compliance with OSHA standards.
While the primary emphasis is on hard services, the role also includes limited oversight of soft services and custodial activities as they relate to site safety and compliance.
Qualifications
✅ Experience performing PPE assessments
✅ Experience working in clean room environments
✅ Experience supporting laboratory operations
✅ Knowledge of hard services and building maintenance safety
✅ Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) experience
✅ Confined space safety experience
✅ OSHA 1926 and 1910 experience preferred
✅ Fall protection experience preferred
Additional Requirements
✅ Must have hands-on LOTO experience
✅ Must have experience working in clean rooms
✅ Must have experience supporting laboratory environments
✅ Ability to work on-site for the full project duration
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee EHS compliance for maintenance activities within an active pharmaceutical facility
- Conduct PPE assessments and ensure proper usage across work activities
- Enforce Lockout/Tagout procedures and verify compliance
- Monitor confined space entry activities and permits
- Support clean room and laboratory safety protocols
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to identify and mitigate hazards
- Perform safety audits, inspections, and field observations
- Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA standards and site policies
- Provide limited oversight of custodial and soft service activities related to safety
