Job Description - EHS Training Manager

Description

     

To excel in the role of EHS Training Manager in a major automotive recycling industry, candidates should possess a strong understanding of all Safety, Compliance and Training in the automotive industry and salvage operations. Prepare and schedule   training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety and other relevant topics. Monitors compliance with safety procedures. Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings. Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily   accessible when needed.  They should have excellent organizational and leadership skills to effectively manage a team and ensure smooth operations.  Will maintain compliance per the OSHA/VOSH regulations for all locations.  Ensure vehicle maintenance compliance per DOT regulations. Conduct all training requirements for new hires and annual training based on position.  Assist leadership in developing EHS objectives, targets, and strategies that align with company plans. Develop and oversee action plans focusing on facility culture and risk mitigation. Engage in project planning and execution to ensure safe and efficient operations. Maintain EHS records in compliance with management standards and legal requirements. Learn (assigned) department operations to train new hires effectively for their position. Work with Human Resources regarding any Workers Compensation claims and investigations.   

Requirements

     

· Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, health, environmental science, or related field preferred. 

· Minimum of 3 years working in EHS-related role.  

· OSHA/VOSH/Safety Certifications a plus. 

· Strong knowledge of compliance standards and risk assessment methodologies. 

· Experience in driving incident investigations and root cause analysis. 

· Competence in developing and implementing EHS training platforms.

· Forklift Trainer Certification a must or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire date.  

· Must be willing to travel to other locations. 

· Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. 

· Must wear steel toe boots/shoes when required.

· Must have experience managing a team of employees. 

· Must be able to work in a diverse environment. 

· Must come to work on the scheduled time required. 

· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets.

· Must be organized and detail oriented. 

· Ability to self-manage, show initiative and be proactive.
