Job Description - EHS/Product Safety Engineer - New College Grad, Bachelor's (Santa Clara, CA)

Key Responsibilities\n\nWorking under general supervision, implements EH\u0026S programs specifies, provides and manages Safety support on specified projects in accordance with AMAT policies and government regulations in order to control hazards to personnel and equipment and limit liability to the company\n\nCoordinates the safety aspects of operations and engineering within the company, with customers and other organizations which are related to operations and products and their design. Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge base regarding safety in accordance with area of specialization and expertise in one or more EH\u0026S disciplines that include: Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, Facilities/Industrial Safety, Product Safety, Lab Safety and Sustainability.\n\nDevelop skills to report and present safety related status and issues to EH\u0026S team and business groups. Implements focused, effective programs aimed at resolving customer concerns and complaints regarding safety designed into new products, and ensures that products meet safety requirements at time of shipment\n\nDevelops and/or implements programs to minimize risk to employees, customer and the environment. Communicate with Corporate EH\u0026S function and with other site EH\u0026S. Develops knowledge and understanding of EHS standards and policies.\n\nDevelops skills to ensure site safety programs are in compliance with local regulations and Corporate requirements. Performs EH\u0026S analysis on components, subsystems, and systems. Prepares periodic and special reports in connection with engineering studies and projects and from liaison with other companies and outside organizations. Investigates accidents and specifies corrective action programs\n\nDeliver safety information and awareness program\n\nDevelops skills to participate in compliance evaluation of products, programs, and facilities per company and governmental requirements\n\nOther Requirements:\n\nThis position may require standing for extended periods of time, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools.\n\nAdditionally, because this position also may involve working in a clean room, the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields may be required.\n\nEducation:\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering\n * Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale\n * Previous internship experience in safety or product safety preferred\n\n\n\n## Qualifications\n\n### Education:\n\nBachelor\u0027s Degree (Required)\n\n### Skills\n\n### Certifications:\n\n### Languages:\n\n### Years of Experience:\n\n1 - 2 Years\n\n### Work Experience:\n\n## Additional Information\n\n### \n\n### Shift:\n\n10-Day 8-Hr (United States of America)\n\n### \n\n### Travel:\n\nYes, 10% of the Time\n\n### \n\n### Relocation Eligible:\n\nYes\n\n### Referral Payment Plan:\n\nNone\n\nU.S. Salary Range:\n\n$75,500.00 - $104,000.00\n\nThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
