Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.
Job Title: State Assessed Therapeutic Support Program Teacher (7-12)
Location: Port Chester, NY
Duration: ASAP to EOSY (covering medical leave)
Responsibilities:
- Teach ELA (English Language Arts) to students in grades 7-12.
- Facilitate six periods of ELA, one for each grade level.
- Implement state-assessed therapeutic support program curriculum.
- Collaborate with teacher's assistant onsite for additional support.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students diagnosed with anxiety/OHI.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
Requirements:
- Certification in ELA (SPED certification is a bonus).
- Experience teaching in therapeutic support programs or similar environments.
- Strong understanding of working with students with anxiety/OHI.
- Ability to manage a classroom with 8-12 students per class.
- Immediate availability to start.
