Job Description - Elders Coordinator

Reports to: Elders Director 


Salary Range: DOE 


Benefits: Health, Vision, & Dental Insurance, Retirement Contributions, PTO, Holidays Classification: Hourly – Non-Exempt


Status:        Full-Time, Regular w/ Benefits


Location: Oakhurst, CA 


Deadline: 08/14/2025


JOB SUMMARY Primary responsibility will be to enrich the lives of our Chukchansi Elders. Plan and prepare congregate group settings and occasional meals. Plan and maintain a consistent flow of activities for the Elders. Supply shopping and maintaining art supply inventory. Food distributions and breakdown of distribution items. Occasional medical transportation. Prioritize time and travel. Other duties may include fielding telephone calls, and fulfilling other duties as required. 


Essential Duties:



  • Plan and prepare a weekly congregate group setting. Outreach, set up, plan and break down events weekly.

  • Research and execute various crafts and activities both cultural and contemporary.

  • Resolve administrative problems by coordinating preparation of reports, analyzing data, and identifying solutions.

  • Provide information by answering questions and requests.

  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and

  • expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.

  • Create and maintain logs and data entry for several programs and events.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional

  • publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all clients and services.

  • All other duties assigned.



Qualifications: Education



  • A high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma

  • Must be serv safe certified. 



Experience:



  • 2 years of Microsoft office software experience.

  • 2 years managing, processing, and organizing documents.

  • Must have strong administrative and problem-solving skills.

  • Process strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with ordering supplies and inventory control.

  • Ability to lift twenty (20) to fifty (50) pounds.

  • Must have a valid driver license with a clean DMV printout.

  • Must pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen. 



Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Familiarity with the Tribe’s Constitution, laws, and culture is preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to work in a high-performance, fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.

  • Adept at multi-tasking, have unquestionable integrity, with a commitment to accuracy.

  • Organized with unfailing attention to detail and outstanding project management skills.

  • High level of comfort/ease interacting with all levels in the Tribe.

  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner

  • Must operate with and maintain confidentiality

PRCI Tribal Preference: In accordance with applicable Tribal Law, and Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the PRCI Administration shall give preference in hiring, promotion, transfer, and lay-off to enrolled members of the Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians. To qualify for this preference, applicants must submit verification of enrollment in the Tribe. Preference means that Tribal Members who are equally qualified as non-tribal members will be hired. In addition, on the Human Resources Interview rubric that allows for a total of 75 points during interviews, Tribal members will be awarded an additional 7.5 points (10% of allotted points) counted in the overall tally. Tribal members who are not Chukchansi will receive Indian preference by awarding five additional points (6.7% of the total allotted points).



Indian Preference Statement: Under CFR 25, Part 276 and by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Section 701(b) and 703(i), preference in filling all vacancies is provided to qualified PRCI Tribal Members and/or other American Indian/Alaska Native Candidates.
