1. Performs EEG procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates EEGs and EP studies for technical quality. 2. Assists Neurologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations. 3. Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the EEG/EP procedure. 4. Ensures electrode application in adherence with the International 10-20 System. 5. Implements activation procedures and safety measures in accordance with EEG/EP policies / procedures. 6. Identifies various types of EEG patterns. 7. Communicates effectively with physicians and co-workers. Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire R.EEG.T board-eligible R.EP.T board-eligible Preferred experience: Two years of experience in Electroencephalograms (EEG) and Evoked Potentials, (EP) Electrode application Pattern recognition Correlates patient history and clinical symptoms Neuroanatomy and neurophysiology Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
