Description
Position Summary: Coordinates poll workers’ notification, scheduling, training, mailings and provisional ballots for Riley County Elections, provides clerical and bookkeeping support for the Riley County Clerk’s Elections Division.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Riley County voter registration preferred.
Education: Associate degree required with 2 years’ general office experience.
License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver’s license required. Must complete Help America Vote Act training (8hrs) annually. Must be able to obtain a State of Kansas Notary Public.
Experience: Knowledge of Microsoft Office, and experience working with the public.
Appropriate combination of experience and education considered in lieu of the above requirements.
Skills: Good organizational and communication skills and ability to work on multiple tasks with frequent interruptions: ability to work independently as a self starter.

Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee occasionally lifts/pushes/pulls 50+lbs, frequently lifts up of 25-50lbs and constant lift of up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work is generally in an office setting involving everyday risks or discomforts and normal safety precautions typical of an office setting with visual attention and dexterity in computer operation. There is an occasional risk the employee is potentially subject to verbal or physical abuse from disgruntled individuals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
