Job Description - Electric Motors and Pumps - Technician I



Full-time


Description

The Technician will work in a shop environment rebuilding electric motors & pumps. We primarily support manufacturing companies – so timely & high-quality work is required to keep our customer’s plants running. The position has a heavy focus on productivity and quality. We have incentive programs that reward, diligence, quality work and high profits on jobs. 

  • Diagnose rotating apparatus (electric motors, pumps, gearboxes). Provide documentation, measurements of tolerances, electrical testing are all critical to an accurate diagnosis. Technician must be able to read and write legibly. Technician must be able to clean parts, assemble a unit and test run. Again, documentation is a requirement for all completed jobs. Balancing, machining, welding, are all critical parts of the repair process. If the candidate possesses any of those skills – it would be a plus. 
  • Position requires work within the shop environment at Gatterdam. Position will also require work in the field with a teammate.
  • Candidate must have own mechanical tools. If they do not have tools, it would be considered entry level – we would be willing to evaluate if that is the case.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Mechanical Aptitude a must.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to work in the shop and in the field. Field service work could take place within approximately 100 miles of Louisville.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • 3 years of experience as a Mechanic is strongly preferred.
