**Role: Application Engineer (Entry Level)

Location: Houston, TX

Compensation: ** $78k

The Application Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support of our primary products and their applications. This position is to be located in our Houston Service Center. This position will report to the PRIM Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Direct involvement with power system apparatus diagnostics, transformers, switchgear, rotating machines and ancillary equipment.

· Provide focused expertise and guidance to the industry and peers on test instruments and their applications.

· Conduct customer visits to maintain customer relations and increase revenues.

· Product consultation and training on electrical theory and diagnostic methods, including application, data analysis, power system apparatus evaluation and report generation to our customer base. Topics will include, but are not limited to: Power Factor (PF), Sweep Frequency Response Analysis (SFRA), Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA), Dielectric Frequency Response Analysis (DFR), and Partial Discharge (PD).

· Coordinate all technical issues with customers, sales representatives, and distributors.

· Troubleshoot technical problems for customer and sales support.

· Provide input on new products, product strategies, development, and application needs.

· Manage and develop application notes and technical papers, including presentations at relevant seminars/conferences.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Interests in power systems, substations, generation, transmission and distribution of electric power

· Excellent writing, teaching, and presentation skills

· Reputable business and work ethics & personal character

· Long-term strategy, planning and goal oriented

· Creative, innovative thinking and solutions oriented - team member

· Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of large objects more than 50 pounds

· Willingness to travel (up to 50%)
