Electrical Apprentice

Minimum starting $16.00 plus, per hour, depending on qualifications.

The Levy Company is currently hiring third year or higher Electrical Apprentices for commercial, industrial, and heavy highway electrical work available. 

The Levy Company supports Electrical Apprentices in reaching journeyman level.

The ideal candidates will possess a valid Texas driver’s license with no more than two traffic violations and NO DUIs or felonies with a motor vehicle in the last 5 years. Additionally, all applicants must be willing to travel throughout Texas, which may include long-term assignments away from the San Antonio area.  Although not required, a commercial driver license (CDL) is preferred.

Essential Functions may include, but are not limited to:

1. Measures, cuts, bends wire and conduit using ruler.


2. Assists in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects, such as wiring, conduit, transformers, and panels.


3. Performs minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.


4. Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order.


5. Assists in loading, transporting, unloading, and providing electrician with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.


6. Cleans work area and restocks supplies and materials.

Required Qualifications:

1. Electrical work experience or completion of electrical trade school.


2. Valid Texas driver license.


3. At least 18 years old.


4. High school diploma or equivalent.


5. Must provide own hand tools.

Required Competencies:

1. Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.


2. Basic mathematical skills.


3. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.


4. Ability to communicate effectively.


5. Ability to work under minimal supervision.

Working Environment:

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, moving objects, sharp edges, and in temperature extremes.

Physical Demands:

1. Frequent operation of equipment with vibrating and moving parts.


2. Frequent and repeated hand and arm movement to manipulate tools, handles, and levers.


3. Frequent and repeated lifting from ground to various heights up to 50 pounds individually, and team lifting heavier items.


4. Frequent and repeated exerting of force up to 100 pounds.


5. Standing and walking for extended periods of time.


6. Occasional walking on uneven and / or unpaved terrain.


7. Frequent climbing steps, ladders, and in/out/onto vehicles.


8. Frequent and repeated bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, reaching, and crouching.


9. Visual acuity to drive motor vehicles and mobile equipment, distinguish colors, and to read printed and electronic documents.


10. Hearing capacity to receive, perceive, and react to common driving and construction environment noises.
