Electrical Assembly Technician 2nd Shift

Description

Southwest Electric Co. is looking to hire a 2nd Shift Electrical Assembly Technician in Louisville, OH with strong electrical experience and the ability to read construction and layout drawings. Must be able to use measuring equipment, various hand and power tools, fork truck and crane usage. 

10% Shift Differential for 2nd Shift

2nd Shift Electrical Assembly Technician Summary:

The Assembler should be able to wire and install electrical components per engineering drawings. Complete electrical circuits between components in medium voltage switchgear. The ability to understand electrical schematics and blueprints to determine placement of conduit is crucial. 

• Cabling of medium voltage and high voltage switchgear. 
• Installation of bus work and components per engineered drawings. 
• Installation of insulation materials and supports for electrical conductors. 
• Silver-plating or plating of materials using the tooling, materials and procedures set forth by the supervisor.
• The ability to use fabricating machinery, Stud Welder, Bus Bender and Hydraulic Punch equipment. 
• The ability to use various types of hand tools such as drills, saws, nibbler, DA sanders, grinders, etc. 
• Ability to read mechanical drawing, layout and part diagrams.
• Understanding of panel layout to ensure proper fit of devices and materials. 
• Verify components with a (BOM) bill of materials.
• Computer Literacy required for time and labor entry. 
• Strong mechanical background with knowledge of switchgear manufacturing operations.

Requirements

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Complete a satisfactory nationwide criminal background check.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Ability to lift 50+lbs, climb ladders, stand or kneel for extended periods of time. 
• Ability to read and comprehend standard operating procedures. 
• High School Diploma or GED Required. 
• Training in a Technical discipline, trade school or electrical theory education preferred. 
• Military experience a plus. 
• 3-5 years minimum mechanical experience in an industrial workplace.
