The Electrical Engineer serves as a technical resource for electrical power, controls, and automation systems at RoyOMartin’s Chopin manufacturing facility. This experienced-level role provides technical leadership in troubleshooting, system reliability, electrical project design and execution, and the continued development of plant electrical systems and personnel. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve as an electrical subject matter expert and technical resource to departments throughout the facility
Analyze and troubleshoot complex electrical power and control system issues
Design, coordinate, and commission electrical and controls projects
Develop and manage electrical project schedules, budgets, contractors, and capital projects
Support and maintain Allen-Bradley PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo systems, HMIs, and industrial networks
Maintain Rockwell AOP, EDS, and firmware files
Maintain RoyOMartin electrical specifications, drawings, and technical documentation
Work with the electrical department to develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs for electrical equipment
Mentor, train, and provide technical assistance to plant electricians
Maintain plant arc flash studies and documentation and support compliance with NFPA 70E requirements
Perform or support short circuit studies and protective device coordination
Support process instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, and flow measurement systems
Work with vendors and technical partners to evaluate and implement new technologies
Job Experience
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline preferred
Five or more years of electrical, controls, or automation experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
Strong working knowledge of AC and DC power and control circuits and low-voltage motor control systems
Experience with three-phase 15kV and 480V switchgear
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, and HMI programming
Experience with PLC networking and industrial network switches
Working knowledge of NFPA 70E arc flash requirements
Experience with AutoCAD and electrical drawings
Knowledge of short circuit studies and protective device coordination
Experience with process instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, and flow measurement
Experience managing electrical projects, contractors, and commissioning activities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Experience with Maximo and QlikView is a plus
