As an Electrical Engineer \u2013 Level 2 your role at Huntsville, AL will be pivotal in supporting missions critical to national and global security interests. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.\n\n \nWe are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Avionics Design and Test engineering team in our NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, AL offices.\n\n \nThe Electrical Engineer is responsible for development and execution of integrated tests for the advanced booster avionics of the Space Launch System (SLS) vehicle to contract requirements. The SLS is the primary manned launch vehicle for NASA\u2019s Artemis program. The candidate\u2019s major responsibilities include (though not exclusively):\n\n * Support electrical component system integration design and tests. \n\n * Create and sustain engineering documentation products (drawings, specifications, design and analysis reports, test plans, test reports, etc.)\n\n * As a Materiel Review Board (MRB) Design Engineer (DE) present nonconformance dispositions and analyses.\n\n * Oversee and conduct integrated testing for development, qualification and acceptance of flight electrical systems/components.\n\n\n\n\nYour mission, should you choose to accept: \n\n * Technical Point of Contact for the Booster avionics message table definition and implementation.\n\n * Understand current and future parameter definitions (contained in the message table) that provide descriptive communications identifying the commands between the SLS main flight computer (to execute a specific function) as well as the health and status of each avionics Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) in the SLS boosters. \n\n * Support design efforts and tests as well as provide engineering support for avionics flight hardware and systems including:\n\n * Understand current and creation of new booster simulation models for the System Integration Lab (SIL)\n\n * Create and execute test plans and associated procedures\n\n * Receive \u0026 inspect avionics hardware, assemble and test hardware, conduct tests and analyze data of the same\n\n * Forward Assembly/Aft Skirt Acceptance Check-Out (ACO) support\n\n * Booster assembly Integration and Test Checkout (ITCO)\n\n * Launch console support\n\n * Support Program Management office on engineering labor estimates, schedule, and procurement activities. \n\n * Support other element Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in integration and optimization of engineering products and processes. \n\n * Support hardware discrepancy (MRB) activities. \n\n * Other duties as assigned\n\n\n\n\nWhy you? You\u2019re the candidate we\u2019re searching for if you are ready to achieve the impossible alongside like-minded innovators. \n\n \nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with 2 years of engineering design, analysis, and test of aerospace electrical systems \u2013 OR \u2013 Master\u2019s degree.\n\n * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance be a US citizen.\n\n * Experience with the design, analysis, and test of flight electrical systems.\n\n * Familiarity with common aerospace bus architectures (e.g., MIL-STD-1553, EIA-422)\n\n * Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment as part of a multi-discipline team\n\n * Excellent written and oral communications skills.\n\n * Excellent time management and organizational skills.\n\n * Excellent interpersonal skills working in a team environment.\n\n\n\n\n \nPreferred Qualifications: \n\n * Working knowledge of Analog, Digital, and Instrumentation systems\n\n * Experience with Material Review Board and resolving discrepant hardware\n\n * Previous experience with Space Transportation System (STS) hardware or other Space Launch System Vehicle Avionics hardware\n\n * Understanding of Configuration Management practices (e.g., Change Request/Change Notice) generation\n\n * Proficiency with Cirrus cable harness test equipment\n\n * Proficiency with generation and execution of electronic manufacturing planning.\n\n * Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment as part of a multi-discipline team\n\n * Excellent written and oral communications skills.\n\n * Excellent time management and organizational skills.\n\n * Excellent interpersonal skills working in a team environment.\n\n\n\n\nCurious about all the exciting developments with the Northrop Grumman Space Sector? For more information on our Total Rewards package, please visit our Total Rewards site. \n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
