Electrical Engineer HVAC Controls

Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer to support the design, troubleshooting, and production of commercial HVAC electrical systems. This role focuses on electrical problem-solving in a manufacturing environment, development of wiring documentation, and controller programming. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on engineering experience, deep knowledge of electrical systems, and familiarity with industry safety standards such as UL and ETL.

This position is best suited for a mid-to-senior-level professional with a proven track record in electrical engineering within production or HVAC-related environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide electrical troubleshooting support for production and manufacturing issues
• Develop and maintain wiring diagrams and electrical documentation for commercial HVAC products
• Program and develop controllers and support electrical system integration
• Size and specify electrical components, including electric reheat systems, heating elements, wiring, and related parts
• Support test and validation activities, including flow stand and lab-based testing environments
• Work with and ensure compliance with UL/ETL safety standards and requirements
• Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, production, and sales support
• Communicate technical details effectively with customers and internal stakeholders
• Maintain accurate documentation using CAD tools, calculators, and engineering software

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of electrical engineering experience (10–15 years strongly preferred)
• Experience in production or manufacturing troubleshooting environments
• Proven experience creating wiring documentation for commercial HVAC systems or similar electrical products
• Hands-on experience with controller programming and electrical component specification/sizing
• Familiarity with UL and/or ETL safety standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work reliably in a fast-paced production-support environment

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience
• Background in the commercial HVAC industry
• Experience with LabVIEW programming and test environments
• Exposure to flow stand testing systems or similar validation setups
