The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Northridge, CA. Telework is not available for this position.\n\nReporting to Hardware Engineering management, the Manager Electrical Engineering 2 - The EE Manager will be responsible for supporting the implementation of strategic goals and objectives as applicable to the Electrical Engineering Group to support business objectives. The role will ensure engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization\u0027s established policies and procedures.\n\nSuccess in this role will reflect extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Familiarity with Digital Systems, Electronic Warfare Systems, or RADAR Systems and methods is preferred. System design and engineering development and transition-to-production experience is necessary as this position will require technical leadership and know-how in transitioning engineering development systems to full rate production. Skills and experience in multi-discipline engineering, systems integration and test are essential.\n\nRelocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available. \n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\n\n * Manage an Electrical Engineering Department of up to 20 engineers.\n * Direct contribution to active programs and provide technical guidance to engineering staff.\n * Work with Engineering Leadership, Peer Managers and Program Management to ensure programs are adequately and appropriately staffed.\n * Coach and develop staff by providing an environment that encourages ongoing professional growth. Ensure staff receives the appropriate training and skill development opportunities to be successful in their roles.\n * Act as resource to the department staff by providing guidance, interpretation, training and key input regarding operating procedures and processes.\n * Champion and participate in engineering process improvement initiatives to ensure alignment of operations initiatives.\n * Support the Business Unit\u2019s initiative to move to Model Based Engineering.\n * Develop and administer budgets and standards of performance.\n * Participate in Peer Reviews and Major Design Reviews.\n * Support proposal development and substantiation of related contract activities.\n * Identify capital, facility, and other resource requirements to secure discretionary funding to support development and transition to production needs.\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or equivalent with 8+ years of relative experience or MS degree with 6 years of relative experience in engineering.\n * Demonstrated experience in leading personnel.\n * Experience estimating tasking as well as authoring and approving Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for Proposals.\n * Multi-disciplinary engineering experience desired.\n * Active Secret security clearance required\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * MS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or equivalent.\n * Experience in Missile Development and/or Airborne Systems.\n * Familiarity with Digital Systems, Electronic Warfare Systems, or RADAR Systems.\n * Experience in transition from Technology Development to EMD, EMD to Limited Rate Production and product life-cycle engineering. \n * Experience in leadership of technical teams to include in-house development and subcontractor activities.\n * Demonstrated history of technical progression leading to engineering leadership position.\n * Experience in program leadership.\n * Experience estimating tasking and writing Basis of Estimates for Proposals.\n\n\n\n#LI-BC2\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $161,100.00 - $241,700.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
