Position Overview
As the Engineering Manager for Software & Electrical at our client's organization, you will lead a talented team of engineers responsible for developing software and electrical systems for medical devices. Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, you will oversee the design, development, testing, automation, and implementation of software and electrical solutions, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements, quality standards, and customer needs.

Responsibilities
Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software and electrical engineers. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
Product Development:

Oversee the design and development of software and electrical systems for medical devices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, regulatory affairs, and quality assurance, to define requirements and specifications.
Technical Leadership:

Provide technical leadership and expertise in software and electrical engineering. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Project Management:

Lead engineering projects from concept to launch, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory standards. Establish project plans, allocate resources, and manage risks effectively.
Quality Assurance:

Ensure that software and electrical systems meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety. Implement robust testing and validation processes to verify compliance with regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure that software and electrical systems comply with relevant regulatory standards and guidelines, such as FDA regulations and ISO standards. Work closely with regulatory affairs teams to facilitate product approvals and certifications.
Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, and manufacturing, to align engineering efforts with business goals and customer needs. Foster a culture of collaboration and communication across the organization.
Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate technical and project risks proactively. Implement risk management processes and controls to minimize the impact of potential issues on project timelines and deliverables.
Continuous Improvement:

Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering organization. Identify opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Proven experience as an individual contributor in a software and electrical engineering environment, preferably in the medical devices or healthcare industry.
Strong technical expertise in software and electrical engineering principles, methodologies, and tools. Experience with embedded systems, firmware development, and regulatory compliance is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to successful completion.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality products that meet customer needs and regulatory requirements.
