Job Description - Electrical Engineer-Power Systems Design

Description:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join a dynamic team in Charlottesville, VA. This is a full-time, on-site role with a competitive salary range of $100,000$120,000. If you have a passion for designing and optimizing electrical systems, this opportunity is for you.

In this role, you will design and develop power distribution systems for industrial and manufacturing facilities, typically working with systems of 1000V or less. Your work will ensure the reliability and efficiency of electrical infrastructure, directly impacting the success of diverse projects. Key responsibilities include designing high and low-voltage systems, performing load flow and short-circuit analyses, preparing detailed design documentation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. You will also collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, oversee project timelines and budgets, and provide technical support during installation and commissioning.

To excel in this role, you will need a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution and 510 years of relevant experience. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Virginia or the ability to obtain one within three months is required. Proficiency in system modeling software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, AGI), AutoCAD, REVIT, and Microsoft Office is essential. Familiarity with electrical codes such as NEC/NFPA 70 and NESC/IEEE is also required. Prior consulting or construction experience is a plus.

This role involves working in industrial and manufacturing environments, which may require climbing stairs, ladders, and navigating congested or elevated spaces. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
