Volt is hiring - an immediate need for an Electrical Instrument Design Engineer in the Golden Triangle.
The Electrical Instrument Design Engineer will ensure that all the electrical, instrument systems and structures are being designed as per the government rules and regulation and that quality standards are being maintained at optimum level. This position will be working onsite with our client located in Nederland, TX in a direct hire opportunity.
As the Electrical Instrument Design Engineer, you will;
- Lead the design of larger and more complex electrical/instrument assignments.
- Work under general supervision.
- Analyze the instrumentation and electrical systems.
- Develop and review construction packages to ensure new installations meet MPC and all applicable industry codes and standards.

- Knowledge of project workflow / information flow between disciplines.
- Forecast project and estimate completions with accuracy.
- Develop, design, and draft drawings of various complexity such as P&ID's, GA's, instrument, and electrical equipment drawings, etc.
- Prepare material take-offs from drawings.
- On-site assistance as required by the project for execution, testing, and final checkout.
This is a full-time, DIRECT HIRE opportunity.
Qualification/Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in the Electrical & Instrumentation design field
- An Associate degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent, a Bachelor degree is preferred.
- Relevant experience in the industrial markets of mechanical/piping drafting and design.
- Solid understanding of piping design with software programs such as CADWorx Pipe
- Must have basic use and knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Understand specifications and installation details along with formulation of bulk materials and equipment documents.
- Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards
- Knowledge and understanding of schedules and how to assess any project constraints.
- Working knowledge of 2D and 3D AutoCAD
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Salary: $125-165K annually *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
