SUMMARY
The Electrical/Instrumentation Tech is responsible for all electrical/electronic equipment associated with the hydroelectric system, water delivery and treatment systems, wastewater treatment, and recreation systems within GBRA. This position is responsible for working on electrical power generation equipment, transfer switches, and high voltage lines in hydroelectric generation plants, substations, and transmission lines.

High School diploma or equivalent.
REGISTRATIONS/LICENSES
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two years of electrical/electronic technical training, or five years’ experience working with electrical power, electrical power generation equipment, substations, and/or electronic equipment, including SCADA systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Standard physical activity, such as periodic standing, walking, sitting, and basic motor skills to operate necessary computer programs. Wear personal protective equipment as outlined in the employee Safety Manual, such as a full-face respirator. Climb up and down vertical ladders up to twenty (20) feet. Lift loads to fifty (50) pounds chest high. Operate large valves. Enter and work in confined spaces, as defined by OSHA. Perform basic first aid and CPR. Respond to visual and audible alarms. Accurately interpret actual color. Walk several miles in a day—occasional walking across terrains, primarily on GBRA properties or sites.
Employees must wear protective footwear in compliance with the ANSI or ASTM standards. New employees are provided with protective footwear. Replacement footwear is provided annually for qualifying employees.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees in this position report to the electrical and Instrumentation office located at 933 East Court Street, Seguin, TX, and travel throughout the Guadalupe River basin to repair and maintain electrical/electronic, control, and SCADA equipment located at all GBRA facilities. Work is approximately seventy (70) percent indoors and thirty (30) percent outdoor and is performed in electrical power plants, electrical substations, spillway operating piers, pump stations, water treatment plants, lift stations, and wastewater treatment plants. They may also be required to assist in repairing high-voltage power lines.
TRAVEL
Overnight travel limited to meetings, training and/or continuing education classes.
