Job Description

The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of all electrical/electronic equipment and systems, including process equipment, utility equipment, and control loop setup/calibration.

We offer two shift options for this role: a 3rd shift from 10 PM to 6 AM, or a 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule from 6 PM to 6 AM, which involves working every other weekend.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all facets of maintenance and repair, but most specifically those related to control systems troubleshooting, PLC programming, documentation, and software backups. 
  • Establish control loop calibration routes and ensure that the equipment controls are maintained within the design and set point parameters necessary to function properly. 
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing equipment with special regard to major and minor electrical/electronic system failures throughout the facility.
  • Develop and/or update changes to technical schematics and documentation, including formal technical training, hands-on training, and written procedures (i.e., work instructions, SOPs, and lesson guides).
  • Offer technical expertise and guidance to other team members, including operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel.
  • Take initiative and provide leadership in situations requiring advanced electrical/electronic knowledge or when issues arise outside the typical scope of maintenance work.
  • Participate in special projects/functions including: formal and hands-on technical training for operations and maintenance personnel, emergency and scheduled maintenance coverage, and the development of special written procedures/programs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. An associate's degree in a related discipline is preferred. 
  • 6+ years verifiable work experience in the electronics and instrumentation field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Proportional-Integral-Differential (PID) control loops, AC/DC drives, and assessment techniques for examining, questioning, and evaluating PLC program logic.
  • Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO, or related experience preferred.
  • Regard safety as a core value; must serve as a role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Google Sheets/Docs, Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and function-specific software.
  • Able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests.
  • Able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
