Creature is an integrated design build firm based in Birmingham, AL. Our focus is on developing a differentiated delivery platform that improves the lives of our employees and customers. We are focused in the delivery of facilities utilizing the Design, Manufacture, Construct (DMC) methodology. DMC replaces the century-old, siloed approach of the Architecture Engineering and Construction Industry. A major component of our platform is our in-house Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing trades.

Job Description:

Creature is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to lead and manage our Electrical team. This individual needs to work with a high-level of ownership, be a sharp communicator and problem-solver, and lead projects with excellence from start to finish. You will have ownership of the electrical value stream, working alongside our Electrical staff. Having strong vision and leadership is non-negotiable. This person will be responsible and accountable for delivering electrical and related systems for our medical and commercial clients on schedule and within budget for each project. This role reports directly to the COO and is based in Birmingham, AL.

You must be a thoughtful doer that can seamlessly transition from being in the trenches to creating smart systems that continuously improve the electrical function of Creature and Creature as a whole. The ability to communicate simply about complex environments is essential both verbally and written. Work well with a team of smart contrarians in an entrepreneurial environment – think startup in a transparent, sometimes irreverent, open-office plan.

Role Expectations:

• Optimize electrical operations


• Be an expert in the field of electrical construction and specifically in the systems we most frequently utilize


• Become a hands-on expert of Creature’s operational model and production system


• Utilize the systems and processes for Electrical group to improve HVAC and Plumbing capacities


• Provide leadership by supporting the entire Electrical team 
  


• Work with Creature PM team to smooth out labor for Electrical teams causing smooth manpower loading of Creature projects


• Work to recruit and standardize training of new field talent


• Accountable for the performance and development of Electrical tradespeople


• Become accountable for the P&L of electrical business units
  

You must have at least 5 years in Project Management for a Commercial Electrical Contractor and preferably hold a BS in Engineering from an accredited university.
