Electrical QA Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical QA Specialist to provide quality oversight of electrical systems installation on a large-scale mission-critical project. This role will ensure electrical work is performed to specification, design intent, and industry standards while driving issue resolution, documentation, and coordination with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Review contract documents, Owner’s Project Requirements, and Basis of Design to ensure full familiarity with electrical scope.
• Lead QA/QC oversight of electrical installations, ensuring compliance with specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
• Maintain a Discrepancies Log (DL) in BIM 360, tracking deficiencies from discovery through corrective action and reinspection.
• Develop and execute pre-functional inspection checklists for all major electrical equipment.
• Oversee receipt inspections of electrical equipment delivered to site.
• Conduct field observations of installations (MV/LV systems, transformers, switchgear, UPS, grounding, etc.) to confirm workmanship and compliance.
• Track installer qualifications and training to ensure quality of field work.
• Support coordination with project managers, contractors, and commissioning agents to close out issues prior to energization and start-up.
• Participate in daily coordination meetings and provide regular QA updates to the Owner.

• 10+ years of electrical QA/QC or related field experience on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of mission-critical electrical systems (MV/LV distribution, UPS, switchgear, grounding, etc.).
• Ability to interpret design documents, specifications, test plans, and commissioning scripts.
• Extensive experience with QA/QC inspections and documentation tools.

Preferred:

• Background as an electrical superintendent, foreman, or contractor.
• Familiarity with BIM 360, P6 scheduling, and QA/QC management platforms.
• Experience collaborating with project managers, commissioning agents, and construction teams.
• Strong initiative and ability to manage tasks independently while keeping a big-picture perspective.
