Job Description - Electrical Superintendent
We are seeking a skilled
Construction Manager
to oversee a variety of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in California. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, quality, and successful completion of our construction sites.
Start Date: June 2024
Estimated Duration: 12 months
Responsibilities:
Manage the construction of energy and water-related customer improvements, including solar PV, energy storage, LED lighting retrofits, HVAC/control upgrades, and more.
Provide field input to support schedule and budget tracking and reporting during construction phases.
Assist in cost estimation and scheduling for projects in development and design stages.
Develop and execute Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control plans.
Ensure construction adheres to civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation & controls specifications, drawings, and codes.
Collaborate with Project Managers to set project schedules and ensure constructability.
Conduct reviews of scopes and subcontractor plans to determine operational requirements.
Coordinate technical consultations and QA/QC inspections with Project Engineers.
Lead the punch list process and project turnover from construction to commissioning.
Manage customer site access requirements and minimize construction impacts on building occupants.
Coordinate outage requests with customers and utilities.
Oversee underground utility locating and excavation processes during construction.
Support Project Managers with technical and commercial oversight, including change requests and payment applications.
Plan and oversee traffic control designs prior to construction activities.
Ensure project compliance with AHJ, utility, and special inspections for necessary permit sign-offs.
Document project progress and maintain records in Procore, including photos, incident reports, safety documents, and daily logs.
Ensure compliance with local labor regulations and work closely with Labor Compliance team.
Collaborate with Project Coordinator and Project Engineer to obtain closeout documentation.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction management, preferably in energy efficiency or renewable energy projects.
Proven track record of successfully managing complex construction projects from inception to completion.
Strong knowledge of construction safety practices, regulations, and quality standards.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project).
Experience working with public sector clients is a plus.
Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED) are desirable.
